Nebraska

I (of course) want to root for Will Forte, who will forever be my favorite cameo in Tim & Eric Awesome Show as the possessed proprietor of Lazy Horse Mattress.  Several areas of production in Nebraska scream “student film” which is a head-scratcher considering Alexander Payne’s level of experience, having directed such memorable films as Election and Sideways.  Perhaps Payne is doomed to make “airplane movies”, which are a fabulous distraction but do not age well, like The Descendants and About Shmidt.  Nebraska is not a great movie, but it was cute and I will most likely forget about it after this sentence.
