The subtlety and tenderness of this film was intoxicating. It reminded me of The Limits of Control-an unfocused yet somewhat complex snippet of “a day in the life”. Sort of a visual palate cleanser, this was the ginger between projects, something to remain artistically limber and take a vacation at work, like Burn After Reading. Yet the cyclical storytelling structure and subtle character development hinted at a more significant film and a more archetypal lead, as if we are temporarily in step with a musical sysyphus.
